The VMware migration plan your CEO has been waiting for
Measurable outcomes, guaranteed timescales, fixed cost.
If you’re approaching another vSphere renewal, our VM Migration Liftoff Kit is your surest, quickest path to a migration with immediate results.
Our mission is to take you from a standing start to a full VMware exit faster than you dared hope. Get a full migration plan in 3 days, your first live production workloads migrated to our best-in-class platform in weeks, and a whole year of licenses to scale at your pace.

Are you sure you want to wait for another Broadcom renewal?
Broadcom’s acquisition of VMware turned licensing into a weapon. How much has your renewal price jumped already?
You know that every renewal cycle that passes without a migration plan makes the next one worse. The hard part has been finding a plan that moves at the speed you need, and handles the risks you know lie ahead.
You don’t need another PoC
Most VMware migration conversations start with a proof of concept and end with a shelf full of reports… leaving you more or less where you started.
We take a different approach.
Instead of a lab environment that’s torn down after a PoC, we’ll stand up a real production cluster with all the governance you need to host production workloads — and a whole year of licenses to keep it running.
Instead of abstract advice, we give you hands-on support. It starts by producing a prioritized migration plan in 72 hours, but we don’t stop there: a Spectro-approved system integrator will migrate your first cohort of production VMs within a fixed time period, and hand over not only running infra, but a validated runbook your team can use to keep going after the engagement wraps.

Three steps to success
Assess
We start with a structured review of your VMware environment. We map the VM inventory and identify which workloads are ready to migrate, flag blockers that would affect scope, and deliver a target architecture with an ROI model your team can act on.

Migrate
Working with our engineers, an approved SI deploys Palette and VMO in your environment, sets up SSO and baseline RBAC, then migrates an initial cohort of production workloads. Real deployment on your infrastructure, with Spectro Cloud providing technical oversight throughout.

Scale
You’re operational. The first workloads are live, your team has a validated runbook, and the 12-month Palette license covers VMs and containers. The platform is expansion-ready whenever you are, to get you to a VMware-free future.
Results your CFO will love
The whole point of the VM Migration Liftoff Kit is to get your VM workloads up and running in Spectro Cloud Palette fast — so you can start to see the results, and prove out the full outcomes you’ll enjoy when your journey is complete.
How do we deliver results like these? Migrating from vSphere to Palette VMO means you can run VMs and containers on a single Kubernetes platform with no separate hypervisor layer to license or maintain. Our pricing is fair and competitive — put us to the test.

“When our previous vendor raised prices 4x and left us unsupported, we needed a smarter path. Palette gave us a cost-effective way to manage containers and VMs in one platform.”
Built on proven, validated components

Frequently asked questions
That’s why we start with the assessment. You get a full picture of your environment, a prioritized plan, a cost-saving model and a risk profile before committing to move anything. The first cohort migrates on a defined scope with guardrails, so you control the pace.
You can, but the cost trajectory only goes one way. Broadcom has moved most customers to bundled subscription licensing at around 150% higher cost. Every renewal that passes without a migration plan adds cost and reduces your negotiating leverage.
The engagement is the evaluation. By the end of the 72-hour assessment you get a full environment map, a set of migration candidates ranked by readiness, an ROI model, and a target architecture. Then the engagement moves straight to production workloads on your infrastructure.
The assessment produces a prioritized migration plan for your full environment. Once your first cohort is live and the runbook is validated, successive waves follow the same pattern at a faster pace. The platform and licenses are already in place, ready to scale if you need more.
An approved SI — expert in Palette and our VMO technology — leads deployment; Spectro Cloud provides the platform, assessment, and technical oversight. Your team partner with us every step of the way, but we do the legwork.
As part of the migration we’ll run automated conversion tools against your VMs. But some things are unavoidably out of scope. We’ve designed this process for organizations on VMware vSphere 7.0 or 8.0. We won’t work on app-level code changes, customer kernel or driver remediation, or migrations from very old or esoteric environments, including OVA files. We can flag these as exceptions and proceed, or work with your professional services partner on a fuller engagement.
Palette VMO runs VMs and containers on one Kubernetes platform without a separate hypervisor. OpenShift engagements often carry significantly higher services costs. Nutanix replaces one proprietary hypervisor with another. Spectro Cloud typically delivers 40%+ savings against VMware and around 50% lower total cost than comparable OpenShift engagements.
As the analysts at Forrester put it, “Spectro Cloud’s innovation focus has paid off, with major customer account wins over incumbents like Red Hat and SUSE.”
No. VMO can also be deployed as a standalone, self-contained appliance ideal for fixed-scope projects like this. You get the same KubeVirt-based runtime and migration tooling in a lighter footprint, with completely local management and no connection to the full Palette management plane. Talk to us about which model fits.
VM Migration Assistant works with VMware vSphere 7.0 and 8.0, migrating directly from vCenter into KubeVirt. Earlier vSphere versions aren’t supported.
If you have more than 1,000 VMs, complex multi-site needs, or specialized workloads, we’ll scope a bespoke engagement. Contact us and we’ll figure out the right approach.
