One platform. Four editions. Your choice.

The power of Palette is that it’s a platform: a unified experience for managing your infrastructure from edge to cloud, metal to model, and day 0 to day 2. But that doesn’t mean you don’t have a choice. Here’s how the Palette portfolio breaks down.

Pricing

We’ve worked hard to make our pricing simple and transparent, but also aligned to the economics of your projects and how you see value.

  • In virtualized and cloud environments, you pay for Palette based on usage.

  • In edge and bare metal environments, we price for Palette licenses based on the number of nodes under management.

  • For PaletteAI, we price a flat fee per GPU in your managed infrastructure.

We offer different support tiers to suit the criticality of your infrastructure, including dedicated TAMs if you need them.

And of course we are happy to work with you on multi-year agreements or other deal structures to suit your needs.

FAQs

Got questions? We’ve got answers. And if you don’t see the info you need here, get in touch and we’d be happy to help.

What does usage-based pricing mean?

We believe usage-based pricing is fairest for our customers. Usage based pricing is calculated using the concept of kilo-Core-hour or kCh.

This is a measurement of the number of worker CPU cores managed by Palette, multiplied by time. For instance, for a 4-node cluster which has 16 CPU cores each, one day of management will equate to 4 x 16 CPU cores x 24 hours = 1.54 kCh. We use that to work out your bill per calendar month.

If you’re using Palette with a cloud-managed Kubernetes service, like GKE, AKS or EKS, we recognize that you’re already paying for a degree of cluster infrastructure management through your cloud provider, so we price at a lower rate for these clusters.

What other contract options are available?

There’s no minimum spend for Palette. We offer discounted rates for increased usage, and additional discounts on annual and multi-year commitments up to 5 years, based on predicted usage. If your usage increases mid-term, we apply a ‘true forward’ methodology to correct the pricing for the following billing periods, with no retroactive clawbacks.

How are bare metal and edge servers priced?

We calculate the pricing of bare metal and edge devices based on how many devices are under management and actively participating in clusters. Pricing varies based on the ‘size’ of each server. For a detailed quotation specific to your infrastructure, please get in touch.

What does self-hosted mean?

We offer Palette by default as a multi-tenant SaaS hosted platform.

This gives you instant and economical access to all our features without the burden of hosting. But we recognize that you may prefer a different deployment method. That’s why we also offer dedicated (single-tenant) SaaS, plus full self-hosted (you run Palette on your infrastructure) and even air-gapped self-hosted options.

An additional setup charge will apply for these options — your Spectro Cloud representative will be able to advise on how it works.

What SLAs cover the Palette platform?

For our Spectro Cloud-hosted options, we back the availability of the Palette platform with a 99.9% uptime service level agreement (SLA). This does not cover self-hosted instances of the Palette platform. For more details on our SLA, or if you have any specific needs, contact your Spectro Cloud representative.

How can I purchase Palette?

You can buy Palette from one of our stellar partners, directly from us by getting in touch, or directly via the AWS or Azure marketplaces.

I’ve had a better price from one of your competitors. What can you do?

We are confident that our pricing is extremely competitive, especially factoring in the unique features you get with Palette (find out more on our Why Palette page). Don’t forget we also provide full technical support as part of our price, no matter your usage. However, if you still believe you’ve found a better offer, get in touch with us to discuss. We’d love to learn more and see how we can help.
